Part 107 operations and decision-making
The biggest share of the test: radio calls, airports, emergencies, aeronautical decision-making, physiology and maintenance, grouped the way the FAA's Airman Certification Standards group them.
What does the Part 107 test ask about operations?
Operations is the largest area of the 60-question test, at 35 to 45 percent. The FAA's Airman Certification Standards split it into six tasks: radio communications, airport operations, emergency procedures (including lithium batteries and lost control links), aeronautical decision-making, physiology, and maintenance and inspection.
| UAS Topics | Percentage of Items on Test |
|---|---|
| I. Regulations | 15-25% |
| II. Airspace & Requirements | 15-25% |
| III. Weather | 11-16% |
| IV. Loading & Performance | 7-11% |
| V. Operations | 35-45% |
| Total Number of Questions | 60 |
